European and Asian liquefied natural gas prices declined again for the front month though were mixed further out for Europe as warmer weather returned to key regional markets to exacerbate the gas glut with storage still at record levels for the winter season.
European natural gas market prices and Asian spot LNG cargo values slipped to near last year’s levels as hotter weather temporarily dispelled gas supply concerns and available shipping remained short for the Northern Hemisphere winter to come.
Sept 23 (LNJ) - Shipping spot charter rates for LNG carriers are little changed since last week. Spot charter rates are still between $63,500 per day and $59,500 per day in the West of Suez market for vessels of 155,000-165,000 cubic metres capacity.
East of Suez spot charter rates are again quoted by shipbrokers at between $60,500 per day and $56,500 per day. One-year charter rates for the most modern vessels were unchanged at about $93,000 per day.
April 15 (LNGJ) - Shipping charter rates for LNG carriers in the spot market increased for West Of Suez by around $13,500 per day to average between $55,000 per day and $51,000 per day for vessels of 155,000-165,000 cubic metres capacity. In the East of Suez charter market average rates rose by around $4,000 per day to between $43,000 per day and $39,000 per day, according to various brokers. One-year charter rates for the most modern vessels also increased to around $61,000 per day.
March 11 (LNGJ) - Shipping charter rates for LNG carriers in the spot market were mixed with West Of Suez rates gaining around $4,000 per week to average between $36,000 per day and $30,000 per day for vessels of between 155,000-165,000 cubic capacity. In the East of Suez charter market average rates were unchanged from last week at between $32,000 per day and $28,000 per day, according to various brokers.
Nov 12 (LNGJ) - Shipping charter rates for LNG carriers in the spot market rose in the past week as the Northern Hemisphere winter market demand continued to be firm. Brokers said the rates increase by up to $9,500 per day.
Rates were quoted at an average of between $109,000 per day and $115,000 per day West of Suez. The same levels of spot rates were also talked about for the East of Suez charter market for vessels of between 155,000-165,000 cubic metres capacity, according to various brokers.
July 30 (LNGJ) - LNG carrier charter rate discussions have increased in the West of Suez market as the fixing window progresses further into September. Brokers said that while traders argue that the economics of the arbitrage window are unsupportive of freight at such high levels, the available shipping still seems to be in short supply when considering the balance of the fleet across the East and West of Suez markets.

Rates were quoted at an average of between $35,000 per day and $37,000 per day West of Suez and at rates of between $32,000 per day and $34,000 per day East of Suez for vessels of between 155,000-165,000 cubic metres capacity, according to various brokers. One-year time charters were steady for the most modern vessels and were seen at rates of around $44,000 per day.
