Seven LNG shipments left US plants in the past week compared with eight in the previous week while pipeline natural gas exports to Mexico increased 6.4 percent and feed-gas for plants on the Gulf Coast rose by 18 percent, boosting prices in the region.
National Grid plc of the UK said annual operating profits from the Isle of Grain LNG import terminal in Kent, the largest in Europe, rose by 5 percent with only 30 percent capacity utilization, while its large investments in US operations were offset by regulatory setbacks.
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has carried out a construction inspection of the small-scale LNG liquefaction project in Providence, Rhode Island, being built under an expansion permit by the US subsidiary of UK company, National Grid plc.
US utility Exelon Generation has signed an agreement to purchase the Everett LNG import terminal, located near Boston in Massachusetts and the oldest such facility operating in the US, from the North American subsidiary of French utility Engie.
