March 22 (LNGJ) – French major TotalEnergies has restarted production from the Tyra hub in the Danish North Sea after the completion of a major redevelopment project. “At plateau, the Tyra hub will produce 5.7 million cubic metres of gas and 22,000 barrels of condensate per day, once again making Denmark self-sufficient and a net exporter of natural gas,” said the Paris-based company.

   “We are pleased to restart the Tyra hub, one of the most technologically advanced offshore gas installations in the world. The success of this major redevelopment project owes a lot to the commitment of our teams, our partners and our contractors,” explained Nicolas Terraz, President of Exploration and Production at TotalEnergies. The French company holds a 42.2 percent stake in the hub, BlueNord owns 36.8 percent and Nordsøfonden has 20 percent.

The UK Government’s North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) said there was wave of new opportunities for the UK’s world-class offshore energy supply chain to create oil and gas projects on the UK Continental Shelf, which will have an impact on LNG supply needs from 2025 and beyond.

McDermott International, the US energy and LNG engineering company, has successfully completed the sail away of the Tyra East gas processing module for the Tyra Redevelopment Project, a crucial part of Denmark's natural gas production hub.
