Tokyo Gas, the largest Japanese LNG importer after Jera Co. Inc., has received its first cargo from the Cove Point export plant in Maryland where Japanese and Indian utilities have 20-year tolling agreement.
UK energy major BP has outlined its LNG plans on the US Gulf Coast and its success in developing its natural gas assets in the southern Haynesville Shale on the border of Texas and Louisiana.
Imports of liquefied natural gas by India for the month of March jumped 16.8 percent compared with the year-ago period and were more than 7 percent up on the previous fiscal year as shipments were received from traditional supplying nations such as Qatar and Nigeria and newest supplier the United States.
