JERA Co. Inc., the main Japanese LNG importer, is taking a series of new measures to ensure a stable supply of electricity in Japan in the face of a changing market and geopolitical events.
Japanese energy group JERA Co Inc., one of the world's biggest importers of liquefied natural gas, is expected to expand its Asian business into China as well as other nations in the region.
Japan would pay one-third more per annum for imported liquefied natural gas if it followed the route of Shell and exited the Sakhalin II LNG project in the Russian Far East where two Japanese trading houses are shareholders.
