German energy utility RWE has signed a cooperation accord with Tokyo Gas of Japan on procurement of liquefied natural gas as well as trading and shipping activities.
June 15 (LNGJ) - Tokyo Gas Co., the largest Japanese city-gas company, said last month’s sales volumes amounted to 1.12 billion cubic metres of natural gas, the equivalent of 890,000 tonnes of LNG and a rise of 6 percent on the year-ago figure. Togas announced on May 1, 2016, the integration of three affiliated gas companies, Chiba Gas, Tsukuba Gakuen Gas and Miho Gas. The Tokyo utility said industrial sector sales surged 11.4 percent and totalled 514.4 million cubic metres compared with the same month in 2015. Togas sales in the residential sector were little changed at 263.9 million cubic metres, a rise of 0.2 percent.
Tokyo Gas, the third-largest Japanese buyer of liquefied natural gas, consolidated its natural gas sales last month and achieved initial success in May in signing up new power customers under Japan’s deregulation of its domestic energy markets.
March 15 (LNGJ) - Tokyo Gas, the third-largest Japanese buyer of LNG, said February sales volumes declined by 3 percent from the year-ago period to 1.47 billion cubic metres of natural gas, the equivalent of 1.08 million tonnes of LNG. Togas operates in four supply sectors and while residential, commercial and industrial sales all fell, sales of wholesale natural gas to other city-gas firms rose 13.6 percent to 237.9 cubic metres. In the industrial sector, Togas said sale volumes totalled 553.5M cubic metres, down 7.6 percent “due to the decreased demand for power generation.”
