The Swedish Port of Gothenburg said construction had started on a liquefied natural gas fueling facility to start serving LNG-powered vessels within months as part of the expansion of infrastructure in Northwest Europe’s Emission Control Area covering the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.

Volvo, the Sweden-based auto manufacturer, said it was introducing new heavy-duty trucks to run on liquefied natural gas and compliant with new European Union emission restrictions.
