LNG spot cargo prices were flat over the past week with higher values quoted for December volumes with the second half of December window priced at $6.500 per million British thermal units for shipments to China, Korea and Japan.
Singapore LNG spot cargo prices dropped to around three-year lows because of high volumes and plunging seasonal demand as cargoes for North Asia destinations such as China and Japan lost US$0.66 per MMBtu in a week from already depressed levels.
Singapore LNG spot cargo indices dropped to their lowest level for about three years with the May price being at a high of US$4.793 per million British thermal units and only June cargoes for North Asia quoted above the US$5.000 level.
Singapore LNG cargo indices declined overall with the strongest pricing being just under US$9.045 per million British thermal units for North Asian destinations in the first half of February 2019, while March cargo quotations were down to under US$8.900 per MMBtu.
