Dec 21 (LNGJ) – The European Union is currently relying on LNG supplies from Russia and Nigeria to boost natural gas levels over the Christmas holiday season. The 172,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “Boris Davidov” is scheduled to deliver a Russian cargo on December 24 to the French Montoir-de-Bretagne import terminal on the Atlantic Coast from the Yamal plant in northern Siberia, according to shipping data. The 148,470 cubic metres capacity “LNG Lokoja” was set to deliver a shipment on December 27 to the Sines import terminal in Portugal from the Nigeria LNG plant.
Dec 1 (LNGJ) - Medway-Iberia, the Portugal-based multimodal logistics company offering truck and train services, said it invested in 14 specific tank containers for the transport of liquefied natural gas by rail for the Portuguese national oil and gas company Galp Energia. The purchase follows an agreement between the two companies signed in November.
The contract includes the annual transport of 800 LNG containers from the Portuguese Sines import terminal, to various gasified storage units located mostly in north region of the Iberian river Douro. “This agreement proves Galp’s confidence in our integrated freight transport services and is a motivation for the country to continue investing in the future of the railroad, as it is the most sustainable choice when it comes to means of transport,” stated Carlos Vasconcelos, Administrator of Medway-Iberia.
Sept 5 (LNGJ) – The 145,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “Ejnan” was unloading a cargo on September 5 at the Adriatic LNG facility offshore northeast Italy from the Ras Laffan plant in Qatar, according to shipping data. The 210,100 cubic metres capacity Q-Flex carrier “Al Sheehaniya” will unload a Qatargas shipment on September 6 at the Swinoujscie terminal on the Baltic Coast of Poland. The 172,636 cubic metres capacity carrier “Fedor Litke” is scheduled to arrive on September 9 at the Zeebrugge terminal in Belgium with a shipment from the Yamal plant in Russia. The 145,000 cubic metres capacity vessel “Al Thakhira” will deliver a Qatargas cargo on September 10 to the Barcelona terminal in northeast Spain. The 137,230 cubic metres capacity vessel “LNG Sokoto” will unload a cargo on September 13 at the Portuguese Sines terminal from the Bonny Island plant in Nigeria.
Venture Global, the developer of two US liquefied natural gas export plants in the state of Louisiana, said it secured a 20-year sales agreement with Portuguese energy company Galp Energia for volumes of one million tonnes per annum.
Portugal has carried out its first liquefied natural gas bunkering operation at one of its ports when a cruise liner owned by a subsidiary of Carnival Corp. of the US was refuelled at the Atlantic island of Madeira.
Aug 24 (LNGJ) - The 145,700 cubic metres capacity carrier “LNG Benue” will deliver a cargo on August 26 to the Sines import terminal in Portugal from the Bonny Island export plant in Nigeria, according to shipping data. The 177,000 cubic metres capacity vessel “Energy Horizon” will deliver a shipment on August 28 to the Japanese Higashi-Ohgishima import terminal owned by Tokyo Electric Power from the Dampier export complex in Western Australia, operated by Woodside Petroleum. The 159,900 cubic metres capacity carrier “Energy Atlantic” will deliver a cargo on September 14 to the Escobar import facility in Argentina, located on the Parana River north of Buenos Aires, from Ras Laffan in Qatar.
June 26 (LNGJ) - The 75,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “Cheikh El Mokrani” will deliver a shipment on June 27 to the Sines import terminal in Portugal from the Skikda plant in Algeria, according to shipping data. The 147,200 cubic metres capacity vessel “Arctic Princess” is due to unload a cargo on June 28 at the Bilbao terminal in northwest Spain from the Hammerfest plant in northern Norway. The 215,000 cubic metres capacity Q-Flex ship “Al Utouriya” is scheduled to deliver a cargo on July 14 to the Incheon terminal in South Korea, operated by Korea Gas Corp., from the Ras Laffan plant in Qatar.
Jan 16 (LNGJ) - The 160,400 cubic metres capacity carrier “Malanje” is scheduled to deliver a cargo to the Sines import terminal in Portugal on January 22 from the Soyo export plant in Angola, southwest Africa, according to shipping data. In other shipping movements, the 127,700 cubic metres capacity “LNG Flora” will unload a shipment on January 20 at the Tai-Chung import terminal in Taiwan. The cargo came from the Japanese Sakai Senboku terminal in Osaka Bay, operated by Kansai Electric. The 155,000 cubic meters capacity “Gaslog Sydney” will deliver a cargo on January 26 to the Pyoengtaek terminal in South Korea from the Gladstone export plant eastern Australia, operated by Santos.
Dec 13 (LNGJ) - The 147,200 cubic metres capacity “Arctic Princess” will deliver a shipment to the Sines import terminal in Portugal on December 17 from the Hammerfest liquefaction plant in northern Norway, operated by Statoil. The 141,000 cubic metres capacity “LNG Cross River” will deliver a shipment on December 22 to the Barcelona terminal in northeast Spain from the Nigeria LNG Bonny Island export plant.
