Shell Petroleum NV, a subsidiary of Shell plc, has agreed to pay $2 billion to acquire Europe’s largest renewable natural gas (RNG) company, Nature Energy Biogas.
Royal Dutch Shell posted a 15 percent fall in overall third-quarter earnings even as liquefied natural gas and pipeline gas earnings rose by 23 percent to almost $2.6 billion and LNG sales volumes for the year so far were more than 54 million tonnes amid gas field ramp-ups in Australia and Trinidad.
Royal Dutch Shell reported 6 percent lower liquefied natural gas volume sales in the first quarter, though profits jumped 17 percent in the Integrated Gas Division because of higher prices and earnings from trading.
