Rockies LNG, a firm set up by a group of Canadian natural gas exploration and production companies, is considering developing its own barge-based export project on the Pacific Coast of British Columbia as an outlet for abundant gas resources.

Canadian First Nation-backed project company Steelhead LNG and explorer Seven Generations Energy are examining cooperation in the development of infrastructure to support Steelhead's two proposed liquefied natural gas export projects on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
