April 3 (LNGJ) - Sembcorp Marine Ltd, the Singapore-based shipbuilding and conversions yard for offshore energy platforms, including for the LNG sector, is proposing to change its name from Sembcorp Marine to Seatrium Limited following the merger with the other main Singapore shipyard operator Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd. The proposed change of name is subject to shareholder approval.
“Seatrium is a combination of two words – ‘sea’ and ‘atrium’,” explained the Singaporean company. “It is a reflection of the business and its aspiration to be a premier global player providing innovative engineering solutions for the offshore, marine and energy industries,” it added.
Sembcorp Marine Ltd, together with its subsidiaries, have celebrated the naming of its first of a series of LNG-hybrid tugs specially designed for domestic service in the Port of Singapore.
Oct 20 (LNG) - Sembcorp Marine Ltd of Singapore said it entered into a master service agreements with US LNG developer New Fortress Energy Inc. for the engineering and conversion of two Sevan cylindrical drilling vessels to floating LNG liquefaction facilities, including the fabrication and integration of LNG topside modules.
“The hull conversion and fabrication of topsides for the first FLNG liquefaction facility is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2024 through the work engagement contract awarded by NFE,” said Sembmarine. “Work on the second FLNG liquefaction facility project is expected to be contracted at a later date,” it added. The two FLNG units will host the NFE-designed “Fast LNG” liquefaction production facility with a capacity of around 1.4 million tonnes per annum.
