Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), the largest oil exporter, plans to increase natural gas output by 60 percent to take advantage of its massive associated gas in oil fields all well as huge shale-gas reserves as Western nations stall new gas production.
A heavy-lifting, transportation and installation contract has been awarded to privately held Dutch company Mammoet for Saudi Aramco’s natural gas storage and gas resources management project, the Aramco Hawiyah Unayzah Gas Reservoir Storage venture, located 260 kilometres (160 miles) east of Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh.
Sempra Energy, the California-based utility and liquefied natural export plant developer, said it signed an accord for Saudi Aramco, the oil company of Saudi Arabia, to take a stake in the proposed Port Arthur LNG project in Texas.
