April 26 (LNGJ) - S&P Global, the US ratings agency and provider of commodity market reports and energy prices such as the Japan-Korea Marker (JKM) price for Asian spot LNG cargoes and other oil and gas pricing and stock indices, reported increased first-quarter 2024 profits and revenues. The New York-based company reported first-quarter revenue of $3.49Bln compared with $3.16Bln in the 2023 quarter, an increase of over 10 percent.
First-quarter net income increased 25 percent to $991M and diluted earnings per share rose 28 percent to $3.16 as higher net income was driven by strong growth in Ratings and Indices, and lower merger-related costs. “We are confident that our leadership in data, analytics, research, and benchmarks to power global markets will continue to serve customers and shareholders alike,” said Douglas Peterson, President and Chief Executive.
