The Arabian Gulf state of Qatar said it was going ahead with a third huge expansion project for liquefied natural gas called the North Field West (NFW) project to take overall output to 142 million tonnes per annum by the end of the decade.

US energy engineering company McDermott has been awarded two contracts by the leading LNG producer Qatar for the Arabian Gulf nation’s largest oil field.

ExxonMobil Corp. posted a fourth-quarter loss of $20.1 billion because of write-offs for American gas assets compared with a $5.7Bln profit in the same three months of 2019 as the CEO said that income was boosted by LNG and liquids as well as Permian Basin shale activities.
