Russia is set to become a liquefied natural gas importer at the port of Kaliningrad with the expected arrival of the floating storage and regasification unit, the “Marshal Vasilevskiy”, to the Russian enclave bordering Lithuania and Poland.
Gaz-System and Energinet, the gas transport operators in Poland and Denmark respectively, have both taken a decision to invest in the Baltic Pipe development overseen by Gassco, the Norwegian natural gas pipeline operator providing one of the main competitors to LNG shipments and Russian gas.
