Teekay Corp., the Canadian oil and gas shipping line with an LNG fleet heading towards 50 vessels, said President and Chief Executive Peter Evensen plans to retire in January to be replaced by Kenneth Hvid, currently head of Teekay Offshore Group.

Teekay LNG Partners, the US liquefied natural gas fleet holding company of the Canadian-based shipping line listed on the New York Stock Exchange, has begun an offering that will test the appetite for LNG shipping shares with long-term charters.
