Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy has just concluded a trade mission to Japan where he met executives of leading energy companies and utilities as well as government ministries about the Japanese companies procuring long-term Alaskan LNG supplies.
Alaska Gasline Development Corp. the developer of the Alaska LNG project, has scheduled a board meeting in Anchorage for May 22 when future key decisions on the venture will be discussed and cost-reduction and other reports considered.
Alaska Gasline Development Corp., the state agency overseeing the Alaska LNG project, said it signed an agreement with ExxonMobil Corp. and BP to cooperate on ways to advance the venture by working together to improve the project’s competitiveness and its progress to gain regulatory permits.
The Alaska Gasline Development Corp., the US state agency responsible for overseeing the Alaska LNG project, has received a major regulatory permit for its $10-billion stand-alone North Slope pipeline to supply domestic customers and feed-gas for LNG if needed.
Alaska Governor Michael J. Dunleavy will travel to Washington DC to meet President Donald Trump on December 13 and is expected to discuss the state’s liquefied natural gas export project and the importance of Chinese investment from companies such as China Petroleum and Chemical Corp., known as Sinopec, and Chinese banks.
Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC), the state-owned company developing the Alaska LNG project, has signed additional agreements to underpin Chinese participation in the venture.
