July 28 (LNGJ) - The UK will receive its first August LNG cargo form Qatar delivered to the South Hook import terminal in Milford Haven on August 1 by the 257,980 cubic metres capacity Q-Max carrier “Al Ghuwairiya”. The shipment is heading for the UK as the National Balancing Point market price for natural gas has surged once more to above $44 per million British thermal units, will up from $13.25 per MMBtu last year at this time.

The US Department of Energy published its latest LNG monthly export data with European nations such as France, Spain, the Netherlands and Italy being joined by Japan in the list of leading destinations while Sempra’s Cameron LNG plant in Louisiana shipped the most expensive cargoes for a second month.

July 14 (LNGJ) - Qatar is keeping up a steady stream of LNG shipments to the UK. The 261,160 cubic metres capacity Qatari Q-Max vessel “Al Mayeda” is scheduled to discharge a cargo on July 21 at the South Hook terminal at Milford Haven in Wales, according to the port authorities. The shipment was heading for the UK as the benchmark National Balancing Point gas market prices were around $32.10 per million British thermal units while spot gas prices in the European Union were more than $20 per MMBtu higher.

April 6 (LNGJ) - The 205,960 cubic metres capacity Qatari Q-Flex vessel “Al Sheehaniya” is scheduled to deliver a cargo on April 12 to the UK South Hook import terminal in the port of Milford Haven, according to shipping data. The cargo was arriving as the differential widened between the UK National Balancing Point wholesale benchmark and the European Union’s Dutch Title Transfer Facility price. The UK NBP was last quoted at the equivalent of $31.75 per million British thermal unit.

Feb 18 (LNGJ) - The 211,840 Qatari Q-Max carrier “Al Sahla” is scheduled to deliver a cargo on February 25 to the UK South Hook import terminal at Milford Haven, the latest in a steady series of deliveries from countries like Qatar and the US during this month. The cargo was lifted on February 5 from the Ras Laffan plant in the Gulf.

   The UK National Balancing Point wholesale natural gas price was still at an elevated level on February 18 at the equivalent of $24.45 per million British thermal units compared with $5.80 per MMBtu on the same day in 2021.

Intercontinental Exchange, the leading global provider of trading platforms and clearing, said December and fourth-quarter average daily volumes of traded derivatives contracts surged for the European natural gas and LNG benchmark, the Dutch Title Transfer facility.

Nov 1 (LNG) - The 205,980 cubic metres capacity Q-Flex LNG carrier “Al Bahiya” is scheduled to deliver the UK’s second November shipment on November 5 at the UK South Hook import terminal at Milford Haven in Wales from the Ras Laffan plant in Qatar.

   The shipment was heading for UK shores as the nation’s National Balancing Point (NBP) benchmark natural gas price was last at around $22.70 per million British thermal units, down from recent record highs.

Demand for liquefied natural gas cargoes surged worldwide as liftings fell amid concerns about a coming global shortage of supplies leading to a jump in North Asian spot cargo prices to over $16.00 for October delivery and European natural gas values reaching their highest for the season since the early 2000s.

The prices of liquefied natural gas on global markets increased to their highest in 2021 in Europe while the spot LNG cargo price for North Asia rose over the $13.00 per million British thermal units level amid oil market concern about US supplies as the differential between North Sea Brent crude and US oil narrowed to well under a dollar.
