June 25 (LNGJ) – A rare summer delivery of LNG is heading for the UK with the National Balancing Point market price at around the equivalent of $10.345 per million British thermal units.
The “Rias Baixas Knutsen” with 180,000 cubic metres of capacity is scheduled to discharge a US LNG shipment on June 27 at the South Hook terminal at the Welsh port of Milford Haven, according to shipping data. The cargo was lifted on June 13 from the Corpus Christi export plant in Texas.
Intercontinental Exchange, the leading global provider of trading platforms and clearing, has posted record October activity in the main LNG and natural gas trading derivative, the Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF), the European benchmark.
The collapse of US oil prices into negative territory affected only physical barrels of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for May delivery and was not a general oil price crash. The global benchmark North Sea Brent crude prices is largely unaffected, nor are future WTI prices.
