Saipem, the Italian engineer for LNG, oil and pipeline gas subsea contracts, reported a rise in earnings as well as a surge in new contracts and revenues, giving the company a backlog of €30 billion ($33Bln) and signalling an improving energy sector.
Sonatrach, the Algerian national energy company, plans to invest more than $30 billion in the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, notably natural gas, and to upgrade facilities to improve its position in global markets for LNG as well as pipeline gas for Europe.
Höegh LNG, the Norwegian project company and fleet owner, has applied for an infrastructure ownership, operations and development licence for a joint venture at the port of Vasilikos on the Mediterranean Island of Cyprus with the aim of having an operational termiinal online in about a year.
