Three UK cargoes
Dec 8 (LNGJ) - Three LNG cargoes will boost the UK’s natural gas supplies in the next week amid colder weather and record winter season prices. The 164,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “Maran Gas Alexandria” was discharging a cargo on December 8 at the UK Isle of Grain import terminal on the Medway River in Kent. The cargo was loaded at the Cameron plant in Louisiana while two other US shipments were heading for the UK’s South Hook terminal in Milford Haven.
The 135,425 cubic metres capacity vessel “Seapeak Catalunya” was scheduled to deliver a cargo on December 12 at the South Hook terminal from the US Sabine Pass plant. The 177,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “Marvel Heron” was then due to deliver to South Hook on December 15 from the Cameron facility in Louisiana.
UK LNG deliveries
May 11 (LNGJ) - Three LNG carriers were heading for the UK this week with cargoes from the US and Peru as the UK National Balancing Point benchmark wholesale natural gas price hit a 10-month low at the equivalent of $18.00 per million British thermal units. The 177,000 cubic metres capacity “Marvel Heron” was berthing on May 11 at the UK Isle of Grain terminal in Kent with a cargo from Cameron LNG in Calcasieu Pass in Louisiana, shipping data showed.
The 174,100 cubic metres capacity carrier “Flex Volunteer” was then scheduled to deliver a cargo on May 13 to the UK South Hook terminal at the Port of Milford Haven from the Sabine Pass plant in Louisiana. A third shipment onboard the 167,400 cubic metres capacity “Methane Mickie Harper” was due to be discharged on May 14 at the UK Dragon terminal. The cargo was lifted on April 15 from the Pampa Melchorita plant on the Pacific Coast of Peru.
US LNG data shows price decline after winter peak but with all global demand regions receiving shipments
The US Department of Energy has just published its latest liquefied natural gas export data with the average overall price for the six plants declining to just over $6.00 per million British thermal units, though shipments were delivered to a total of 27 nations in the reporting month.
Mitsubishi names second LNG carrier to boost shipping capacity for US Cameron plant
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has held a naming ceremony for its latest liquefied natural gas carrier newbuild ordered by Japanese trading house Mitsui & Co. to deliver shipments to Japan from the Sempra Energy-operated Cameron LNG export plant in Louisiana.
