April 3 (LNGJ) - OLT Offshore LNG Toscana, the Italian floating import company with a facility offshore the Mediterranean port of Livorno, said that starting from April 10 the regasification capacity of OLT will be awarded via auctions on the Platform for the Allocation of Regasification Capacity operated by the Italian power exchange management company Gestore Mercati Energetici (GME). OLT and GME have signed an accord on allocations. “This agreement regulates the relations between GME and OLT,” said OLT. “The platform will be in operation from April. OLT will launch the first monthly auction on April 10 in order to offer the regasification capacity available from May to the end of September,” it explained. OLT offshore operates the “FSRU Toscana”, moored 22 kilometres off the coast between the cities of Livorno and Pisa and connected to the Italian national gas transmission grid.

Oct 23 (LNGJ) - The operating company of the Italian floating LNG terminal in the Mediterranean, OLT Offshore LNG Toscana, named Richard Fleischmann is a new Managing Director. Fleischmann represents the main shareholder in the floating storage and regasification project off the port of Livorno, the German utility and energy company Uniper. Formerly a senior executive at Uniper Global Commodities, Fleischmann will support Alessandro Fino, a joint managing director representing Italian utility company Iren.

Feb 22 (LNGJ) - The floating LNG import facility offshore the west coast of Italy, “FSRU Toscana”, has issued a tender for the regasification and storage bundled service for 2017-2018 amounting to natural gas capacity equivalent to 1.5 billion cubic metres. Bids must be submitted no later than March 6. The facility is moored about 22 kilometres off the coast between the cities of Livorno and Pisa. It is connected to the Italian national gas transmission network grid through a 36.5km pipeline from the shore to the mainland operated by Snam Rete Gas.

Oct 13 (LNGJ) - OLT Offshore Toscana, the operator of the floating storage and regasification facility moored off the Italian coast between the cities of Livorno and Pisa, and the Italian Coast Guard are holding a workshop to explain LNG projects and maritime transport issues to energy industry employees, the press and the public. The event will take place on October 18 in the city of Livorno at Fortezza Vecchia, Sala Ferretti. Speakers include Admiral Luigi Giardino of the General Command of the Italian Coast Guard, who will be speaking on safety of navigation. Government officials and LNG terminal executives will also address the meeting, including Alessandro Fino, Managing Director of OLT Offshore.
