Oct 17 (LNGJ) - The White House has nominated James P. Danly, of Tennessee, to be a member of the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the regulator of LNG export plants and other oil and gas infrastructure. Danly would replace the late Kevin J. McIntyre who died in January 2019 before completing his five-term to June 2023.
Danly is a lawyer by profession who has served as General Counsel of the FERC and before that as a member of an energy regulation and litigation law firm. He was a managing director of the Institute for the Study of War and is a former US Army officer who served two tours in Iraq, receiving a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
The Administration of US President Donald Trump has named a lawyer from the state of Virginia employed by the Department of Energy to fill the vacant fifth seat at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the regulator of US energy and liquefied natural gas projects.
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has issued environmental schedules for 12 liquefied natural gas export plant applications currently pending, shortening the waiting time by between up to nine months and a year.
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has set a deadline of June 25 for acceptance of comments on the future certification process for new interstate natural gas pipelines and facilities at a time when more onshore projects are required for shale gas to supply LNG export plants rather than for conventional fields offshore the Gulf of Mexico.
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Kevin J. McIntyre and his four Commissioners appeared before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce for a general oversight hearing amid plans for natural gas pipeline policy changes.
Dec 8 (LNGJ) - The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the permit authority for LNG export projects and other energy ventures, has a new Chairman in Kevin J. He and his wife Jennifer have three children,” it added. His term as Chairman of FERC lasts until June 2018.
