Stolt-Nielsen Ltd, the Norwegian-listed shipping and storage group, said it had joined with Norwegian peer companies Golar and Hoegh in a combined investment commitment of $182 million in a project in the small-scale market called Avenir LNG.
Keppel Offshore and Marine of Singapore said its US subsidiary based in the Texas port of Brownsville won a contract worth more than US$400 million from Honolulu-based Pasha Hawaii for the construction of two liquefied natural gas-fueled containerships.
Stolt-Nielsen, the Norwegian-listed shipping and storage company, said it ordered two 7,500 cubic metres capacity liquefied natural gas carriers with options for three similar ships as it builds a small-scale portfolio to serve projects in areas such as the Italian Island of Sardinian and Scotland.
