National Grid reports profit drops in the UK and US as winter outlook improves and Isle of Grain LNG expands
National Grid Plc, the UK power transmission and infrastructure company with several businesses in the US and the Isle of Grain LNG import near London, reported declines in fiscal first-half profits while investments in projects increased amid a more positive winter energy outlook for the UK and its near neighbours.
Europe’s largest LNG terminal located southeast of London launches auction of 9 MTPA of existing capacity
Europe’s largest liquefied natural gas import terminal, the UK’s Isle of Grain facility on the Medway River in Kent, has launched an auction for 9 million tonnes per annum of existing capacity.
Russian LNG for UK
June 14 (LNGJ) - The “Boris Vilkitsky” with 177,000 cubic metres of capacity is scheduled to deliver a Russian LNG cargo on June 15 to the Isle of Grain LNG import terminal, operated by National Grid Plc, on the Medway-Thames estuary 45 miles southeast of London. The shipment, lifted on June 7 from the Yamal plant in northern Siberia, is arriving in the UK as the National Balancing Point (NBP) natural gas price was at the equivalent of $9.55 per million British thermal units. The Dutch Title Transfer (TTF)) price for Continental Europe was at the equivalent of $9.85 per MMBtu.
