US LNG data shows Japan as top importer with Cove Point and Cameron having highest prices
The US Department of Energy has just published its latest liquefied natural gas export data with price differentials for the five largest plants showing that Cove Point in Maryland and Cameron in Texas had the highest-priced cargoes in 2020, averaging $6.39 per million thermal units and $5.88 per MMBtu respectively, and Japan was the top destination.
