Gazprom, the Russian pipeline gas and LNG provider looking for other markets after being frozen out of the West over the Ukraine invasion, said it had significantly increased pipeline flows to China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) in line with existing supplemental agreement.

US energy and liquefied natural gas project engineering company McDermott has been awarded an initial contract as part of a venture for the development of a natural gas field offshore Vietnam, one of the newest LNG importing nations.

Chinese liquefied natural gas imports increased last month by 30 percent as energy demand recovered because of lower prices and more regasification capacity has come on line, including in Hong Kong.
