Japanese shipbuilders form alliance amid Asia merger race and will target LNG-powered ships
Two Japanese shipbuilders, Imabari Shipbuilding and Japan Marine United, are forming an alliance to compete better against merging South Korean and Chinese shipyards, though will concentrate on LNG-powered vessels rather than high-value orders for LNG carriers.
