Global liftings of liquefied natural gas cargoes rebounded by more than 10 percent this week while European benchmark LNG values rose along with the Japan-Korea Marker price for spot shipments heading for North Asia.
Oil prices partially recovered after two days of turmoil as US crude futures stayed in positive territory but the North Sea Brent oil price was weak amid the supply glut, also shared with the LNG market as the Asian spot price dropped.
Australian deliveries of liquefied natural gas cargoes to nations like China and Japan are reported to be as normal as projects can continue to live with current low oil prices of around US$30 per barrel and a price of about US$3.60 per million British thermal units.
