Imports of liquefied natural gas by India for the month of March jumped 16.8 percent compared with the year-ago period and were more than 7 percent up on the previous fiscal year as shipments were received from traditional supplying nations such as Qatar and Nigeria and newest supplier the United States.
Indian liquefied natural gas imports jumped in December as the total of deliveries for the fiscal year to date also increased along with prices and domestic natural gas output.
Indian LNG imports for August declined by 2.9 percent, reversing a rise the previous month as volume costs continued to increase and the nation diversified its suppliers while boosting domestic production of natural gas.
