Baker Hughes Company, the US energy services and LNG equipment supplier, has signed an agreement with Oman LNG for the turbomachinery scope as part of a de-bottlenecking project in the Arabian Peninsula nation.
The Sultanate of Oman said the Middle East would continue to be a growth area for liquefied natural gas production and Oman itself has plans to boost output, while the nation’s current 3 percent contribution to global LNG supplies is pivotal in keeping the balance of supply and demand.
The Sultanate of Oman, whose LNG liquefaction plant exports cargoes from the port of Sur on the Arabian Peninsula, has signed a sales and purchase agreement with BP to supply shipments to the UK company's Singapore-based trading unit.
Oman LNG said its three liquefaction Trains at the facilities near the port of Sur on the Arabian Peninsula are expected to be at full capacity for the rest of this year and 2018.
Oman LNG said it was upgrading its plant at Sur on the Arabian Peninsula to be able to process more feed-gas under a contract awarded to US energy engineering company KBR Inc.
