Novatek, the Russian natural gas company and operator of the Yamal LNG export plant and developer of Arctic LNG II currently under threat from Western sanctions imposed because of the Ukraine invasion, has reported operating data for all of 2022 as it continued to supply cargoes to the European Union and dispatched 125 shipments last year.

Feb 10 (LNGJ) - The 172,600 cubic metres capacity LNG carrier “Georgiy Brusilov” arrived at the UK Isle of Grain import terminal on the Medway River in Kent on February 10 with a cargo from the Russian Yamal plant in northern Siberia lifted on February 1, according to shipping data. The vessel arrived as the UK wholesale natural gas price, the National Balancing Point, continued to be at seasonal record levels. The NBP was at the equivalent of $24.35 per million British thermal units compared with $6.85 per MMBtu exactly a year ago.

Dec 15 (LNGJ) - The 172,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “Georgiy Brusilov” is scheduled to deliver a cargo on December 22 to the UK Dragon LNG import terminal at Milford Haven in Wales from the Yamal export plant in northern Siberia. The shipment was heading for the UK as winter season prices remained firm, with the National Balancing Point benchmark quoted at the equivalent of $6.40 per million British thermal units. The continental European Dutch Title Transfer facility (TTF) price was lower at the equivalent of $5.90 per MMBtu.

The Russian government has reduced its target for energy cargo transportation to China and Asian nations by the Northern Sea Route with only shipments of LNG close to meeting projected volumes and cargoes of coal and oil falling short.

Shipments of LNG are continuing unabated on a small fleet of Arc-7 ice-class carriers from the Russian Yamal export plant in northern Siberia along the Northern Sea Route to North Asian destinations such as China and Taiwan.
