Woodside Petroleum Chief Executive Peter Coleman warned at the Gastech 2017 conference in Japan that if LNG buyers looked “over the crest of the hill it is clear a supply shortage looms” unless investment decisions are taken soon and if long-term contracts are re-opened to remove destination clauses then other terms may also need to be reconsidered by sellers such as sourcing of supply.

LNG and natural gas industry executives will gather in Japan early next week for the four-day Gastech 2017 Conference and Exhibition taking place in Chiba, near Tokyo, and offering one of the most important platforms of the year to discuss market developments.
