Sept 12 (LNGJ) - Gabadi, the ship repair company based in Coruna, northwest Spain, has signed an agreement with a Chinese shipyard to work on LNG carrier contracts. The accord adds to two others signed with Qatar and Canada. The latest accord in the form of a memorandum of understanding was signed between Gabadi and the Huarun Dadong Dockyard of Shanghai, one of 10 major yards in China. The Gabadi-Huaran Dadong accord aims to capture repair service contracts for LNG carriers and for the retrofitting of LNG-fuelled vessels, a market in which the Spanish company is already fully involved through its agreement with French technology company GTT allowing it to work on the construction of new membrane-type storage tanks and to repair and service LNG carriers with GTT equipment.
