Naturgy Energy Group, the Spanish utility with major US and Russian liquefied natural gas supply contracts as well as gas and power businesses in six Latin American countries, reported lower sales and margins in the short-term LNG market offset by strong long-term sales growth.

Hoegh LNG, the Norwegian LNG project developer and fleet operator, said its floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), the 170,050 cubic metres capacity “Hoegh Giant”, commenced a charter contract with Spanish operator and utility Gas Natural Fenosa.

Gas Natural Fenosa, the Spain-based utility company and liquefied natural gas market participant, said it signed an exclusive 10-year bunkering contract to supply LNG fuel to the ports served by Spanish ferry company Balearia.

Gas Natural Fenosa, the Spanish utility whose liquefied natural gas cargo suppliers include the US Sabine Pass plant and other global plants as well as future cargoes from the Russian Yamal project, posted a 14.7 percent fall in third-quarter net profits as natural gas business gains were offset by some power sector declines.

Gas Natural Fenosa, the Spanish utility and liquefied natural gas market participant, has sold its gas distribution assets in Italy to Rete Gas and Edison for a combined sum of 1.02 billion euros ($1.2Bln) as part of a restructuring plan.

Russian natural gas company Novatek said Spanish energy company Gas Natural Fenosa would be one of the first customers to receive cargoes from the Yamal liquefied natural gas export project in Arctic Russia when it starts commercial operations.

May 12 (LNGJ) - Gas Natural Fenosa, the Barcelona-based Spanish utility with varied LNG and natural gas assets, posted first-quarter net profit of 298 million euros ($323M) in the first quarter, down 8.3 percent from the same period in 2016. Gross earnings fell 5.3 percent to 1.10 billion euros ($1.2Bln) in the same three months of last year. Natural gas distribution accounts for 35.6 percent of the consolidated total revenue and declined by 4.2 percent for the quarter year-on-year. Among its LNG activities, GNF said it had plans for a floating storage and regasification unit project and small-scale distribution. It also reached a bunkering agreement with Balearia, a leading Spanish shipping company in the Mediterranean, to supply LNG fuel for its ferries.

Dec 12 (LNGJ) - Gas Natural Fenosa, the Spanish natural gas and LNG company with global utility assets, said it opened its second LNG public re-fuelling station in the western French city of Poitiers as it builds up a European network. Over the next few months, the Spanish company also plans to open three more stations in the French cities of Bordeaux, Compiegne and in the Channel port of Dunkirk, where France’s fourth and newest LNG import terminal is located. The latest facility in Poitiers also offers compressed natural gas to cars, trucks and buses. Gas Natural Fenosa opened its first French LNG station in southwest France at Castets, near Bayonne, two years ago. “These two stations in France, together with those already operating in Spain, allow the international transportation of goods along the Atlantic Corridor to be made exclusively with natural gas,” GNF said.
