Norway, an exporter of LNG and pipeline natural gas as well as oil cargoes, is a frugal country when it comes to its own natural gas demand with annual needs of just 6.3 billion cubic metres.
French natural gas network operators, GRTgaz and Terega, are confident they have lined up sufficient underground storage and supplies of LNG to ensure the smooth operation of the nation’s gas system throughout the winter.
The French Val de Saone pipeline allowing the supply of additional natural gas supplies from the North to the South of France will be fully operational by November and provide the final part in the creation of a single French gas trading market.
