QatarEnergy, the leading LNG exporter to Europe after the US, has suspended the sending of LNG carriers through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait off Yemen after more US-led air strikes against Iran-backed Houthis and continued threats to shipping raised further security concerns.
Nov 10 (LNGJ) - Qatargas is keeping up a steady stream of LNG deliveries into the UK. The 205,950 cubic metres capacity Q-Flex vessel “Fraiha” is scheduled to discharge a shipment on November 17 at the South Hook import terminal at Milford Haven in Wales from the Ras Laffan plant in Qatar. A shipment of LNG can keep a large city supplied with power for about a week.
Dec 13 (LNGJ) - The 75,000 cubic metres capacity Med-class vessel “Cheikh Mokrani” is scheduled to unload a shipment on December 14 at the Greek Revithoussa terminal from the Skikda plant in Algeria, according to shipping data. The 174,100 cubic metres capacity carrier “Cesi Qingdao” will deliver a cargo on December 17 to the Chinese Qingdao import terminal in the eastern Shandong province, owned by Sinopec, from the Gladstone plant in Queensland, Australia. The 210,100 cubic metres capacity carrier “Fraiha” will deliver a cargo on December 28 to the Incheon import terminal in South Korea, operated by Korea Gas Corp., from Ras Laffan in Qatar.
Sept 20 (LNGJ) - The 145,700 cubic metres capacity carrier “Al Jassasiya”, operated by the Maran Gas-Nakilat venture, will deliver a Qatar shipment on September 21 to the Yung-An import terminal in Taiwan, according to shipping data. The 210,100 cubic metres capacity Q-Flex carrier “Fraiha” will unload a shipment from Ras Laffan on September 27 at the South Korean Tong-Yeong import facility, operated by Korea Gas Corp. The 210,100 cubic metres capacity Q-Max vessel “Al Ghariya” will deliver a cargo on September 30 to the Himeji import terminal in Japan. The 160,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “Asia Energy” is due to unload an Australian cargo from Woodside on October 3 at the Japanese Tobata import terminal, operated by Kitakyushu LNG.
