The Carnival Cruise Line has held a formal naming ceremony to mark the completion of the debut voyage of its second liquefied natural gas-powered ship bult at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland.

Dec 9 (LNGJ) - Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, based in Wisconsin near the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal and Lake Michigan, has delivered the LNG bunkering barge “Clean Canaveral” to US NorthStar Midstream’s subsidiary Polaris New Energy. 

   The latest US bunkering barge has 5,400 cubic metres of capacity and will refuel LNG-powered vessels at ports in Florida. The LNG fuel will be sourced from a small-scale liquefaction plant near the port of Jacksonville. Polaris New Energy signed an agreement in November 2021 for the Wisconsin yard to build a sister ship to the “Clean Canaveral” to meet growing LNG fuel demand in the US.  

MISC Group, the Malaysian shipping company, has completed its first liquefied natural gas bunkering operation in US waters off Port Canaveral in Florida for one of the LNG-powered oil tankers owned by subsidiary AET.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has prepared a draft environmental impact statement for the mid-scale Jacksonville project in Florida proposed by Eagle LNG Partners to supply regional power and fuel markets.

US shipbuilder Conrad Industries said it delivered the first liquefied natural gas bunkering barge built in North America to provide fuel to LNG-powered ships operating from Florida.

US shipping and logistics company Crowley Maritime Corp. said its liquefied natural gas subsidiary successfully completed the first loading of a commercial ISO container shipment from the new Maxville facility in Jacksonville in Florida.
