German Chancellor Olaf Scholz formally opened the nation’s second liquefied natural gas terminal since its reliance on Russian pipeline gas came to a close in 2022 and fast-track developments have been made possible due to the support and know-how in particular of French and Dutch energy and shipping companies.
Anthony Veder, the Dutch shipping line specializing in small-scale gas carriers, will take over the commercial management of five more Norgas ships from US-based financing and leasing company Gatx Corp., strengthening its fleet to 38 liquified natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and ethylene tankers.
Dutch engineering company Royal IHC was awarded a contract for the design and delivery of the complete dredge installations for two new LNG-powered trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHD) being built for Dutch shipping firm Van Oord.
