The Netherlands said that almost a year after Russia invaded Ukraine, the country had virtually stopped importing energy from Russia, though received about the same amount of Russian LNG in 2022 than in the previous year and was looking at setting up new LNG import terminals and joint purchasing global cargoes with the European Union.
ČEZ Group, the national utility of the land-locked European Union member, the Czech Republic, said it received US LNG as its first shipment at the new Eemshaven LNG import hub in the Netherlands.
Belgian shipping company Exmar reported improved first-half earnings in 2022 compared with the same period in 2021 as rates rose and the business was heading for the future benefits of a key charter deal signed for an LNG regasification barge in The Netherlands and the sale of a liquefaction barge.
