TechnipFMC, the US oil and gas services company, has been awarded a large contract by Energean Plc to help develop the new Katlan natural gas field offshore Israel in the East Mediterranean.

A meeting has taken place in Cyprus to push forward with future East Mediterranean natural gas and LNG joint ventures recently affected by conflict in the Middle East.

The Government of Cyprus said it was in alignment with US major Chevron Corp. on the imminent development of the Aphrodite natural gas field in the Eastern Mediterranean, the new regional natural gas and LNG hub despite security concerns over the ongoing conflict.
