China LNG Group Ltd., a Hong Kong-based company with assets along the value chain in mainland China, has said its billionaire Chief Executive Dr. Kan Che (Billy Albert) Kin, was stepping down while the company was also changing its name to better reflect its activities.
Chinese liquefied natural gas imports increased last month compared with the same month last year, led by shipments from Australia and Qatar, though the cargo deliveries were lower than the record set in January 2019 when winter demand was at its peak.
Chinese liquefied natural gas imports rose by 38 percent in 2018 as winter shipments surged in the final two months as more natural gas supplies were brought to the northern cities such as Beijing to help reduce coal use and improve air quality.
Chinese LNG imports in December rose by 34.8 percent to a monthly record of 5.03 million tonnes compared with the 3.73MT logged in December 2016, according to data from the General Administration of Customs.
