Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), the first Chinese port to launch LNG bunkering services two years ago, said it registered bonded LNG fuelling of 260,000 cubic metres in 2023, double the total of the previous year as the fuel market continued to expand.

French liquefied natural gas maritime storage tanks designer GTT and its smart-shipping brand have signed a Technical Services Agreement (TSA) with the France-based containerships operator CMA CGM Group covering 49 LNG-powered vessels.

Winterthur Gas & Diesel, the Swiss-based specialist marine propulsion company, has received type-approval for the biggest and most powerful LNG-powered engines ever built.

The French CMA CGM shipping group, one of the world’s largest container vessel operators with over 500 ships, has attended the launching of the first of its series of nine 23,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) vessels powered by liquefied natural gas to meet new emission requirements and with technology additions on the bridge and elsewhere..

GTT, the French maritime LNG storage technology company, has received an order from the Chinese Jiangnan Shipyard for the tank designs for five new LNG-fuelled container ships of 15,000 TEU capacity each.

Containerships, an Intra-Europe subsidiary of the French global container market participant, the CMA CGM Group, said it took delivery of its second vessel with liquefied natural gas capability to operate in its Baltic services from the Dutch Port of Rotterdam.

Containerships, the Finnish shipping line and part of the French CMA CGM Group, said its first LNG-powered vessel, “Containerships Nord”, successfully underwent its first marine LNG bunkering at the Dutch Port of Rotterdam.
