Woodside Energy Chief Executive Meg O’Neill said liquefied natural gas and oil and gas production were the keys to Australia's future and outlined a three-point plan for the nation to progress while taking care not to be undermined by climate extremists.
Woodside, the operator of two Australian liquefaction plants and with a stake in Kitimat LNG project in Canada, said its LNG processing hub on the Burrup Peninsula of Western Australia was taking shape as the Perth-based company recorded lacklustre earnings hit by low prices and operational issues.
Woodside Petroleum, the liquefied natural gas plant operator in Western Australia, said it had decided to advance with the pipeline project, the Pluto-North West Shelf Interconnector, to connect the Pluto LNG and the North West Shelf Karratha Gas Plant and had entered into contractual arrangements for the construction.
US engineering companies McDermott International and Baker Hughes-GE said they were awarded subsea contracts to provide field development services for the feed-gas needs of the Ichthys LNG export plant in the Northern Territory of Australia.
