July 24 (LNGJ) - Texas LNG Brownsville, the liquefied natural gas export plant to be constructed in the Port of Brownsville in Texas and a subsidiary of Glenfarne Energy Transition, has executed a definitive 20-year tolling agreement for natural gas liquefaction services with Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based EQT Corp. The deal solidifies the two Heads of Agreement signed by Texas LNG and EQT earlier in 2024.
“Glenfarne’s partnership with EQT will bring low-emission natural gas to transitioning and emerging markets, powering the globe’s phase out of legacy, carbon-intensive fuels,” said Brendan Duval, Glenfarne’s Chief Executive and Founder and Co-President of Texas LNG. “Beyond this partnership with EQT, Texas LNG is actively converting its other HOAs into definitive agreements in preparation for a final investment decision,” Duval added.
Texas LNG Brownsville, the US Gulf Coast export project, said it was making solid advances in signing accords for all volumes available as it remains on track for a final investment decision.

March 15 (LNGJ) - Texas LNG, the liquefied natural gas export project to be constructed by the New York-based Glenfarne Group at the fully permitted site at the Port of Brownsville, has received sufficient “expressions of interest from leading project finance banks” to move to the execution phase of project financing. Glenfarne said it had also appointed Latham & Watkins as Borrower’s counsel and Milbank as Lenders’ counsel for the issuance.
The firm noted that these lenders have been key supporters of Glenfarne, having led over $4 billion of financing to Glenfarne’s businesses over the last 10 years for various energy transition-focused assets. “Texas LNG’s financing consortium will be comprised of the world’s leading institutions that recognize the attributes of the project and Glenfarne’s excellent history of building energy transition infrastructure,” said Brendan Duval, Chief Executive and Founder of Glenfarne Energy Transition. The first LNG exports from Texas LNG are expected to be shipped in 2028.

Jan 12 (LNGJ) - Texas LNG Brownsville, a subsidiary of Glenfarne Energy Transition, has signed a Heads of Agreement with US shale-gas company EQT Corp. for natural gas liquefaction services. The HOA anticipates the finalization of a definitive 15-year LNG tolling agreement for 500,000 tonnes per annum of LNG from the first Train of the Texas venture. Texas LNG has proposed annual output of 4 million tonnes per annum from the facility at the Port of Brownsville in Texas.
