Beach Energy Ltd, the Australian company involved in the Waitsia LNG export project in the onshore Perth Basin of Western Australia and in other natural gas ventures in South Australia and New Zealand, posted a fiscal first-half loss as it awaited major project completions.
Australian liquefied natural gas plant operator Santos reported a decline in LNG sales income as production and Asia-Pacific prices fell and the Darwin plant continued to suffer feed-gas issues.
Santos, the Asia-Pacific LNG shareholder and operator and Western Australia’s biggest domestic natural gas supplier, has overhauled the company into two divisions and said in an investor day briefing that activism and increased regulation had delayed timely investment in new fuel supplies.
