Australia’s nine liquefied natural gas export plants shipped an estimated 6.66 million tonnes of LNG during the month of August compared with 6.20MT delivered in the previous month as Asian demand remained high, while prices dropped significantly month-on-month in the Australian domestic gas market.
Jan 7 (LNGJ) - Chevron Corp., operator of the Gorgon LNG export plant on Barrow Island in Western Australia, said it was carrying out repairs on Train 1 because if welding issues after repairing Train 2 in 2020 because of the same problem. “Repairs to propane heat exchangers on Gorgon LNG Train 1 are underway,” said Chevron. The issues at Train 1 were discovered during scheduled inspections of the facility during maintenance.
Australian liquefied natural gas exports continue at near record levels, underpinned by demand from North Asia and while Train shut-ins are unlikely, the oil price fall has led to LNG and gas investment delays.
