The Kingdom of Jordan has started a tender process for the upgrading of the liquefied natural gas import terminal facilities at the Port of Aqaba amid economic expansion plans for the region including in tourism and trade.
March 2 (LNGJ) - The 155,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “Gaslog Seattle” delivered a cargo on March 2 to the Jordanian port of Aqaba from the US Sabine Pass export plant in Louisiana, according to shipping data. The 160,000 cubic metres capacity vessel “Asia Excellence”, owned by Chevron, was unloading a cargo on March 2 at the Chinese Yangshan import terminal at Shanghai port, from Gorgon LNG in Western Australia. The 155,900 cubic metres capacity carrier “Woodside Rogers” was unloading a shipment on March 2 at Taiwan’s Yung-An terminal from Woodside Petroleum’s export facility at Dampier in Western Australia.
The Kingdom of Jordan is seeking the supply of more than 30 LNG cargoes in 2018 before the completion in 2019 of the Israeli Leviathan natural gas field that will send offshore pipeline gas to Israel’s Arab neighbour amounting to 35 million tonnes of LNG over 15 years.
Feb 24 (LNGJ) - The 155,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “Yenisei River”, operated by Dynagas, is scheduled to unload a cargo from Qatar on February 24 at the Zeebrugge import terminal in Belgium. The 160,400 cubic metres capacity vessel “Soyo” has just unloaded a cargo from Angola LNG in southwest Africa at the Aqaba import facility in the Kingdom of Jordan, according to shipping data.
The Kingdom of Jordan and the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum have signed an expansion of the Middle East region's first liquefied natural gas-sharing agreement between floating LNG terminal operators.
May 17 (LNGJ) - The 155,900 cubic metres capacity Marshall Islands-flagged carrier “Clean Planet” will deliver a Qatari cargo on May 21 to the import terminal at Huelva in southern Spain, according to shipping data. The 148,300 cubic metres capacity Bermuda-flagged “LNG Imo” is scheduled to deliver a cargo from Nigeria on May 26 to the Jordanian import facility at the Port of Aqaba.
May 4 (LNGJ) - The 210,100 cubic metres capacity Q-Flex LNG vessel “Umm Al Amad” is scheduled to arrive with a Qatari cargo on May 6 at the Dutch Gate import terminal in the Port of Rotterdam, according to shipping data. The 145,000 cubic metres capacity “Methane Heather Sally” has just unloaded a cargo at the Jordanian import facility at the Red Sea port of Aqaba. The 216,200 cubic metres capacity Qatari vessel “Al Kharaitiyat” has docked at the LNG berth for the floating terminal at Jebel Ali port in Dubai. The 75,500 cubic metres capacity Algerian carrier “Cheikh Bouamama” has arrived with a cargo from the Sonatrach plant at Skikda to unload at the Spanish import terminal in Barcelona.
The weight of the Middle East and North Africa countries in the global liquefied natural gas market strengthened and the region emerged as the new growth driver.
