UK major BP has announced the first natural gas flows from its Angelin development in Trinidad and Tobago to help underpin the future of the Caribbean nation’s liquefied natural gas exports and has a 10-year investment plan amounting to around $8 billion.
March 6 (LNGJ) - McDermott International, the US energy engineering company currently merging with CB&I, was awarded a detailed engineering and procurement services contract from BP as part of the UK company's natural gas expansion in the LNG producing country of Trinidad & Tobago. The McDermott contract relates to the Cassia C Compression Platform, located 40 miles off the southeast coast of Trinidad. The contract follows McDermott's award for the full engineering and commissioning contract in 2017 for the Caribbean nation's Angelin gas project. "This award is significant as we continue to build our relationship with BP Trinidad & Tobago through strong collaboration and predictability in our execution," said Scott Munro, McDermott's Vice President for Americas, Europe and Africa.
Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean nation with an LNG export plant at Point Fortin in Trinidad, said its natural gas output rose to a two-year high in November as it supplied cargoes to Europe, South America and Asia and headed for higher liquefaction levels compared with 2016.
Norwegian-based consultancy and services company Add Energy was awarded a contract as part of the development of the Angelin natural gas field by BP in Trinidad to supply more feed-gas for the Atlantic LNG liquefaction and export plant at Point Fortin.
